Sheffield Johnson, 72, a native of Gibson, La., and a resident of Paramount, Ca., died Monday, May 5.
He is survived by his sons, Shawn Johnson, Roderick Johnson and Damien Johnson; daughters, Sheffaye Johnson and Delores A. Bean; brothers, Earl Johnson, Jr. and William Johnson; sisters, Rose Johnson and Margret Brown; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Johnson, Sr. and Zenobia Johnson; brothers, Lenist Johnson, Arlington Johnson, Thomas Johnson and Johnal Johnson; sisters, Beverly Johnson, Emelda Johnson-Cross, Constance Johnson and Bertha Matthews; and grandson, Andre’ Murphy, Jr.
He was Baptist and enjoyed hunting, spending time with family and traveling.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at St. James Baptist Church in Gibson with a religious service to follow. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
