Shirley Rita Bourgeois, 81, a native of Des Allemands, La. and resident of Raceland, La., died Sunday, May 17.
She is survived by her two sons, Gary Bourgeois and his companion, Judy Deroche, and Wayne Bourgeois and his wife, Pat Bourgeois; three daughters, Betty “Jane” B. Dufrene and her husband, Calvin Dufrene, Brenda Folse and her husband, Reed Folse, and Janice Guidry and her husband, Jerry Guidry; four sisters, Gloria Hollaman, Ida Warrino, Pansy De Angelo and Rosa Dell Naquin; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis “Harris” Bourgeois; her parents, Walter Dempster and Ida Baudoin Dempster; two brothers, Walter Dempster Jr. and Adlis Dempster; and four sisters, Ruby Lee Julia, Marjorie Barrard, Diana Ford and Azelia Fritchmen.
She was a Catholic at St. Hillary Catholic Church in Raceland.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 18, at St. Hillary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements
