Shirley Theresa Rome Watkins, 85, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013.
Mrs. Watkins was a lifetime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
She is survived by her sons, J. Louis III (Rosemarie), William (Elizabeth), Richard (Debbie) and James (Tammy) Watkins; daughters, Mary (Eric) Waguespack and Evelyn (Stephen) Ballentine; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Louis Watkins Jr.; parents, George and Agnes Rome; brothers, Maurice, George Jr., Harding and Gerald Rome; and sisters, Virgie Broussard and Margaret Kohnke.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
