Flood protection to sediment boosts initiatives
November 21, 2011Shirlyn Gesile Johnson, 46, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Shreveport, La., died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011.
Ms. Johnson was a CNA.
She is survived by her companion, Morris Dotson; father, Earle Johnson; sons, Joshua and Sean Johnson; daughter, Khalilah; brothers, Kevin (Darlene), Darrin (Wahi) and Dion Harris, Allan Hawkins, Deja and Johnny Johnson and Aaron Wolfe; sisters, Charnelle (John) Randall and Mitzi Johnson; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Harris; and grandparents, Percy Harris Sr. and Esther and Henderson Sr. Johnson.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Community Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home, with burial at Deweyville Cemetery. (Community)
