Stagg “Big Mamou” Veillon, 73, a native of Mamou, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, February 23.
He is survived by his sons, Farrel, Gregory and Erick Veillion; daughters, Patricia Sauce, Ethelina Jerkins and Connie Sue Chatagnier; brothers, Albert and Emile Veillon; sister, Lurline Fontenot; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ezery Chiasson Veillon; parents, Estagg Veillion and Aurore Manuel Veillion; two brothers; three sisters; grandchild, Jay Guillot; and son-in-law, C.J. Guillot.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 26, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, February 27, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
