Rev. Stanley Joseph Bergeron Jr., 80, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010.
Rev. Bergeron attended United Theological Seminary and Bible College where he graduated with a bachelor of theology degree. He was a member and associate minister of Dularge Community Baptist Church and a member of the Star Association.
He is survived by his children, Bonnie (Frank) Nixson, June (Jerry) Bledso, Ruth (Hank) Prats, Torey (Terry) Hebb, Stanley III, Robert (Claire), Chad and Michael (Lori) Bergeron; devoted companion, Rose Shanklin; sisters, Elsie Rich, Janet (Donald) Wells and Meril Allen; brothers, Melvin (Shirley), Floyd, Lanny (Ramona), Alger and Terry (Linda) Bergeron; three godchildren; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Dularge Community Baptist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
