November 3, 2010Sylvia P. Knight, 86, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Williamsburg, La., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010.
Ms. Knight graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1941. She attended Louisiana State University, the University of South Louisiana and Tulane University. She was the past president of the Collins PTA and the Covington County Cancer Society. She was a member of the Bridge Club, the Green Thumb Garden Club, Home Demonstration Club, the Music Club of Collins, and of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Brenda), Michael (Martha) and Patrick (Cynthia) Knight; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Isare Cenac Porche; husband, Daniel Championois Knight; three brothers, Armand Jr., Charles and Jacques Porche; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hebert and Irma Jane Picou.
She is interred at Collins City Cemetery.
