Thaddeus Joseph Blanchard, 91, a native of Chauvin, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010.


Mr. Blanchard was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a past member of the United Lodge 267, Scottish Rite and American Legion Post 31.


He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edith Naquin Blanchard of Houma; sons, Glenn of Houma, and Darrell (Joyce) Blanchard of Houston; brother, Elmer (Georgia) Blanchard of Houma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Necia Foret Blanchard; brothers, Wilbert, Cyrus, Rannie and Henry Blanchard; and sisters, Villa B. Robichaux and Mildred Blanchard.

He is buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
