Lt. Gov.: Despite economy, news is not all bad

Tommy Verdin, 54, a native of Bayou Blue, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, March 2.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Barnhart Verdin; mother, Eveline Fitch Verdin; stepsons, Tim Bass and Aaron Frommeyer; daughters, Carla M. Verdin and Melanie Barrley; stepdaughter, Rachel Frommeyer; brothers, Ernest, Ricky, Tony, Mark and Timothy Verdin; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Verdin; brother, Michael Verdin; and sister, Ramona V. Babin.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, La.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
