Travis James LaBouve, 27, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, La. died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Teche Regional Medical Center.


He is survived by his parents, Lonnie and Kathy LaBouve of Berwick, La.; brothers, Ricky LaBouve of Morgan City and Derek LaBouve of Berwick; and his maternal grandparents, Emory and Mary Besse of Morgan City.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lelande Gail Selvey; and his paternal grandparents, Nelson and Loretta LaBouve.


Travis was a talented young man and was selected from college students around the country to sing at Carnegie Hall not once, but twice. He was a published poet. He was an accomplished organist and played for St. Bernadette, St. Stephen’s, Holy Cross and St. Joseph’s Catholic churches. Travis loved the Lord, and he will be truly missed.

Pallbearers were Jerry LaBouve, Nelson Duplantis, Steve Besse, Christopher Besse, Bart Lee and Timothy Besse.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Make a Wish Foundation.

Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of the arrangements.
