Una Ruth Eschete Bonvillain, 90, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, May 9, at 6:40 p.m.
She is survived by her sons, David, and wife Dianne Konieczka Bonvillain, and Randy, and wife Jill Doiron Bonvillain; daughters, Rhonda Bonvillain Darsey and husband Paul; Cathy Bonvillain Dupont, and husband Mike, Judy Bonvillain Champagne and Susan Bonvillain Smith; grandchildren, Craig Dupont and Michelle Dupont Levron, Adam and Chris Darsey, Brett, Brian and Lauren Bonvillain, Brittany Bonvillain, Kim Champagne, Kristi Champagne Blanchard and Roger Smith Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert “Nootsie” Bonvillain; son, Kenny Bonvillain; her parents, Joseph and Elise Bergeron Eschete; brothers, Bob, Abbey and Paul Eschete; and sisters, Nora Pellegrin, Cecile Pellegrin, Cora Boudreaux, Rosa Eschete and Irene Boudreaux.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was a devout Catholic and loved St. Francis de Sales Parish. The family would like to extend thanks to Heritage Manor Nursing Home and St. Catherine Hospice. Thank you also Dr. Ray Cinnater, Dr. Jules Dupont and Nancy Warren for their kindness and support.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with a mass of Christian burial to follow. She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
