Urbain Joseph “U.J.” Fournier, 88, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010.


Mr. Fournier worked for Superior Oil Company for thirty years then opened Houma Saltwater and Disposal. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church and he served in the Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Rodrigue Fournier; sons, Brian Joseph and Dean (Denise) Paul Fournier; daughters, Wanda (Daniel) Babin, Claire (Matt) Melancon, Tammy (Bob) Boquet and Julie (Larry) Moss; brothers, Russell, George, Elmer and Daniel Fournier; sisters, Georgia Hebert and Barbara White; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezip and Clemence Breaux Fournier; brothers, Louis and Onezip Fournier.

He is buried at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
