Velma Pitre Broussard, 80, a native of Golden Meadow, La. and a resident of Galliano, La. died Sunday, December 30, 2007, at 12:15 p.m.
She is survived by her four sons, Spergan Broussard, Jr., Ron Broussard, Rod Broussard, and Ralph Silva-Broussard; one daughter, Cindy Melancon; two step-children, Melinda Ballew and Joey Broussard; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step- grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Spergan Broussard, Sr; her parents, Jackin and Heniette Esponge Pitre; one infant son, Ray; and four brothers, Walter, Andrew, Jack, and Percy F. Pitre.
Velma was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Larose, La.
She was buried in Cheramie Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
