Velma Landry, 71, a native of Stephensville, La., and a resident of Patterson, La., died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.


Ms. Landry had a very outgoing personality and was a lady in all aspects of the word. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years and retired as Post Master of the Amelia Post Office.


She is survived by her daughters, Gwendolyn and Julie Aleman; brothers, Leonard (Mazie), Ronald (Lorraine), Michael (Mary) and Damon (Katherine) Landry; sisters Barbara (Albert) Eues and Susanna Kendrick; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Morgan City Cemetery.
