Vera Levron DeHarte, 60, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:31 p.m . Wednesday, March 17, 2010.


Mrs. DeHarte was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church, and a bus driver for the Terrebonne Parish School Board for 10 years. She was the former vice president of the parish’s Bus Driver’s Association, and enjoyed traveling with her husband Claude in their motor home.

She is survived by her husband, Claude “Dave” DeHarte; son, Justin DeHarte of Bayou Blue; daughter, Christina (Kevin Bergeron) DeHarte of Bayou Blue; mother, Verna Boudreaux Levron; six grandchildren, Ty, Christie, Bradly, Taylor, Seth and Trey; brothers, Victor “Jay” Sr. (Rena Price) of Bayou Blue, Eugene (Earline Cortez) of Kramer, Alex (Lisa) of Bayou Blue; sisters, Betty (Herb) Freeman of Gaines, Rita (Willis “Billy”) Robinson of Schriever and Tina (Rudy) Griffin of Chauvin.


She is preceded in death by her father, Franklin Levron Sr.; brothers, Franklin Jr. and Dean Levron; grandparents, Victor and Franklina Levron, and Alex and Amy Boudreaux; and in-laws, Jervis and Louise DeHarte.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at St. Louis Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

She will be buried at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery.
