February 17, 2010Veronica Ann “Yonnie” Duplantis Maronge, 64, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Carencro, La., died at 4:22 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Rodney) Sumrall of Carencro; brothers, Jerry and William “Billy Boy” Duplantis, both of Dulac; stepdaughter, Lynn (Wayne) Theriot of Dularge; stepson, Philip Maronge Jr. of Carencro; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Joseph Maronge Sr.; parents, Johnny Sr. and Ida Chaisson Duplantis; sisters, Mary Jane LeBlanc, Lura Duplantis, Geraldine Buquet and Rosella Duplantis; and brothers, Kenneth, Bruce, Roosevelt, Johnny Jr. and Wedgir Duplantis.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Chauvin Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
