Vickie L. Potter Gardner, 51, a native of Houma, La. and resident of Montegut, La. has gone to Heaven after battling cancer Sunday, May 10.

She is survived by one son, Timothy Cooperider of Houma; her close friend and companion, Milton “Buster” Almaraz of Montegut and his sons, Rusty and Cody Almaraz and granddaughter, Zoe Almaraz; four brothers, Joel E. “Butch” Potter Jr., Edward C. Potter, Richard W. “Dickie” Potter of Houma, and Theodore “Teddy” Potter of Baton Rouge; six sisters, Lucille P. Womack, Paulette P. Drott, Elodie “Sissie” Johnson, Ethel Adock, Edna “Susie” Warkow of Houma, and Wilma Lockner of Shawnee, Okla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Gardner; her parents, Joel E. Potter Sr. and Ella M. Hitt Potter; one son, Dallas Elijah Potter; and one sister, Joan F. Potter Woodall.

Memorial service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
