Vincent Keith Dardar Sr., 49, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Lafayette, La., died Monday, February 4, 2008, in Houston, Tx.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Hazel Haggard Dardar; daughters, Liza


Dardar, Taysha Edmonds, Christy Dardar, Taywanee Edmonds and Chusse-Lonna


Dardar; sons, Vincent Dardar Jr., Derek Edmonds and wife Leanna and

Damon Edmonds; his father, Thomas Abraham Dardar; his honorary mother,


Loretta Weaver and her husband, Galis; two honorary sons, David Hoke and David


Walker; five grandchildren, Austin Williams, Cassie Dardar, Vincent Dardar III,

Braxton Dardar and Darien Chebahtah; brothers Thomas Dardar Jr. and wife,


Noreen, Kenneth Dardar and wife, Ruth, Steven Dardar and wife, Kim, Michael

Dardar and wife, Eunice and Randy Dardar; honorary brothers, Randy Landry and

wife, Dana, Bertney Langley and wife, Linda, Ken Bolton and wife, Annette, Tom

Carter and wife, Sissy, Craig Hargrave and wife, Michele, and many others; sisters, Mary Christine Eschette and husband Kern, Helen Dardar Babin and husband Jody, Tammy Dardar, Patricia Dardar Stouff and husband Craton and Rhonda Dardar Huggins and husband DeWayne; one honorary sister, Eugenia Lovell and husband Eugene; his mother-in-law, Theresa Haggard; two honorary grandchildren, Brett and Seth Griffin; and five godchildren, Randall Thomisee, Casey Eschette, Eleyna Langley, Eli Langley and Aleah Williams.

He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Ann Crochet Dardar; and his

father-in-law, Jack Haggard.

Mr. Dardar was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, godfather, son-

in-law and friend to all who knew him. He grew up in Houma, La. where he graduated from Terrebonne High School and went on to attend Nicholls State University. Mr. Dardar was a self-employed businessman who owned and operated El Mar Consulting, LLC. He was an avid LSU and sports fan “who bled purple and gold.” Mr. Dardar enjoyed cooking, snow skiing, hunting, fishing, golf, flying, horseback riding and celebrating his native culture. But his passion in life was his wife and his family, who he adored. He was a member of the United Houma Nation tribe. Mr. Dardar never knew a stranger. The world has truly lost a great man. Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette followed by the funeral services in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Kirby Verrett will officiate the memorial services.
