Vincent Joseph Leonard, 70, a native of Belle River, La., and resident of Morgan City, La., died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at his residence after a battle with cancer.


Mr. Leonard was a U.S. Army veteran, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Cross Council and an avid outdoorsman. He was a welding instructor at Bollinger Shipyard in Amelia, La.


He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Rhodes Leonard; son, Troy (Stephanie) Leonard; daughters, Melissa (James) Krober and Crystal (Ray) Acosta; four grandchildren, Derek Kober, Alaina Kober, Drake Leonard, and Vincent Acosta; brothers, Davis and Melvin Leonard; and sisters, Jane Kieffe, Ruby Pipsair and Priscilla Scully.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Anita Leonard; and brother, Dave Leonard.

He is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
