Viola Trahan Guidry Carrere, 88, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011.


Mrs. Carrere was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.


She is survived by her sons, Larry (Joan), Harris (Merline), Vernon (Sheri) and Eric (Christie) Carrere; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Buck Trahan; and sisters, Wilda Farkas and Wilma Domangue.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Redel Guidry; second husband, Stelay Carrere; parents, Alex and Louise Gautreaux Trahan; sons, Redel Guidry Sr. and Errol Carrere; grandchildren, Dwayne and Redel Jr. “T-Neg” Guidry; great-grandson, Theodore Blanchard; brothers, Willie, Louis “Beb”, Horace “Gro” and Alex Jr. “Prun” Trahan; and sister, Rose Martin.

She is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
