Vivian “Ruth” Ordoyne Lagarde, 78, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 1:42 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011.

Mrs. Lagarde was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend who had a passion for sewing and cooking. She was a generous and caring person always keeping others in her thoughts and prayers. She was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church.


She is survived by her children, Susan (Jimmy) Dufrene, Mona (John) Latiolais, Keith (Shelia) and Royal (Mona) Toups, Gail Keller, Lisa (Jamey) Fontenot, Claudia Verdun and Wayne Sr., James, Keith, David, John (Clare), Thomas and Nancy Lagarde; sisters, Marin (Ronnie) McClelland and Verna Holiday; brother, Raoul Jr. (Mary) Ordoyne; 30 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alban Lagarde; former husband, Kenneth Toups; parents, Raoul Sr. and Felicia Ordoyne; grandson, Obie Tardo; brother, Amos Ordoyne; and sisters, Leona Ordoyne, Mable Kurtz, Corinne and Armace Gros and Clemence Durocher.

Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
