Wava D. Bielkiewicz, 76, a native of Marksville, LA. and a resident of Galliano, LA., died at 2:44 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, LA. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.


She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arthur “Butch” Bielkiewicz Jr.; her daughter, Glenda and husband, Welton Curole; her sister, Juliette Dupuy Dauzat of Marksville; her grandson, Bryan Curole and wife, Susan; her great-grandchildren, Caroline, Elizabeth and Jacob Curole.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gussie and Jessie Deshautelle Dupuy; and her brother-in-law, Earl James Dauzat of Marksville.


She was a parishoner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano.

She was a member of the Pink Ladies of the Lady of the Sea Hospital and a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Joseph Church.

Her hobbies included Bowling, traveling and watching various sporting events.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring grandmother and great-grandmother.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
