Wayne Bernard Toups, 66, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011.


Mr. Toups was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was a pharmacist for 43 years and most recently employed at CVS. He served as president of the Thibodaux Jaycees, first president of Families Helping Families and a committee member for numerous Department of Health and Human Resources conferences. He also served as a board member for the Lafourche Association for Retarded Citizens.


He is survived by his wife of 44 years, JoyLove Toups; children,

Shaun (Corey), Jared (Nicole) and Kirk Toups and Christie (Troy) Theriot; brother, Irving Toups; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Vivian Toups.

Visitation will 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Landry’s)
