Wilburn “Gene” Brossette, 86, a resident of Galliano, LA. and a native of Lucas, LA., died Tuesday, February 6, 2007.


Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Golden Meadow United Methodist Church. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.


He is survived by one son, Wayne Brossette; 2 step-sons, Darrel Richoux and Ernest “T-Blu” Richoux; 2 daughters, Beverly Hogue and Debra Lathrop; one sister, Grace Rogers; 7 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Enola Rome Brossette; his second wife, Leola Ougel Brossette, and his parents, Murry Eugene and Elizabeth Moncrief Broussette.

He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater.

Falgout Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
