William Cooks Jr., 60, a native of Assumption Parish, LA. and resident of Thibodaux, LA., died Friday, January 19, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Thibodaux. The Religious service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Shawn Williams Phillips and Christopher Burnell Phillips of New Orleans, LA.; three brothers, Herman Cooks and wife, Lula of Napoleonville, LA., Wilbert Cooks, Sr. and wife, Geraldine of Thibodaux, and Stanley Cooks of New Orleans; two sisters, Terry Smith of Thibodaux and Valerie Mitchell of New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elester Cooks Jupiter and stepfather, Perry Jupiter, and one sister, Olivia B. Cooks.
He was Baptist. His hobbies include cooking and listening to music.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
