Willie “Sharp Shooter” Wallis, 86, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, July 2.


He is survived by his son, Jay Wayne Celestin and wife Kathelyn; brother, Lloyd E. Wallis and Gloria; sister, Sarah W. Pharr; sister-in-law, Dorothy B. Wallis; grandchildren, Joshua, Kayla, Krishawn and Katelyn Celestin; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Mae Wallis; parents, Eddie H. Wallis and Leoal Stevenson Wallis; brothers, Eddie, Jr., Claude, Benjamin, Lionel, Stafford, Melvin and John Wallis; sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Wallis; brother-in-law, Lawrence Pharr; and grandson, Jeramiah Willie Celestin.

He was Baptist and member of St. Luke Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was retired from Woolworth Department Store.

He was buried at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
