Willmont Matherne, 81, a native of Des Allemands, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, March 1, at 12:10 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Matherne; sons, Larry Matherne and wife Sheryl, Frank Matherne and wife Regina, Tommy Matherne and wife Melodie, Michael Antee and wife Darlene, Chris Antee and wife Kate, and Blaine Fournier; daughters, Felicia Foret, Beth Fisher and husband Frank, Gwen Allemand and husband Michael, and Jessica Fournier; sister, Beulah Comardelle; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Hildes Matherne and Lovinia Dufrene Matherne; brothers Jerry and Luther Matherne; and sisters, Lilly Matherne and Dorothy Howeth.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at Bayou Blue United Methodist Church with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
