Yvonne Evelyn Batiste, 63, a native of Belle Alliance, a former resident of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houston, Tx., died Saturday, Feb. 16.
She is survived by her mother, Vivian Mitchell of Belle Rose, La.; children, Michael Batiste of Cyress, Tx., and Keisha B. Atkins of Katy, Tx.; three sisters; two brothers; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Mitchell.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose, La., with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
