Al John Rodrigue, 90, born in Cut Off and a long time resident of Pointe-aux-Chenes, passed away on November 4, 2023.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Visitation will resume Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 9am to 11am, with the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11am, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Pointe-aux-Chenes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Dupre Rodrigue; sons, Shane Rodrigue, Naru Rodrigue Sr., and Laird Rodrigue; grandchildren, Naru Rodrigue Jr., Allen Rodrigue, and Shaden Rodrigue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel Rodrigue Sr. and Louise Rodrigue Dufrene; brothers, Eugene Rodrigue, Abel Rodrigue Jr., and Dudley Rodrigue.
Al was a retired tug boat captain and commercial fisherman.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Fresenius Medical Care for the many years of dialysis and the staff at Haydel Memorial Hospice for their care and support.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
