Bernard Armand St. Martin

On December 9, 2023, Bernard “Beanie” Armand St. Martin passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side. Beanie was born and raised in Houma, LA and spent the majority of his life residing in Bayou Dularge.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 9:00am until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am with burial in the church cemetery, St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #1.

Beanie is survived by his daughter, Allison St. Martin Whitman and husband Gregory Whitman; grandchildren, Weston St. Martin Whitman and Leighton Michael Whitman; Amy Marcel St. Martin, who was his wife for 25 years; two beloved step-children, Jason Lemoine and Lea Lemoine; brothers, Willard St. Martin and Dr. William St. Martin.

Beanie is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Roy J. St. Martin and Jeanne Theriot St. Martin; his brothers, Leon St. Martin, Roy St. Martin Jr., Barry Blackwell, and Bobby Blackwell; dearest friend, Mrs. Joe Guidry.

Beanie’s last years were difficult, but may we all remember him as the gentle, kind, outgoing, and loving man he truly was. He loved his people hard and never looked away from anyone in need. In his earlier years, he was vibrant with personality and carried a huge presence wherever he went. His love for hunting and fishing was unmatched, and he was an excellent outdoorsman. His love for cooking and entertaining can be attested by all those who came to enjoy meals at our family home over the years.

While our hearts are heavy with loss and we will all miss Beanie greatly, knowing that he is at peace with the Lord and his loved ones provides us great peace and comfort.
