Carlean Zeringue Groves, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Francis Cathedral on Monday, July 18, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

Carlean is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Audrey “Pee-Wee” Groves; granddaughter, Michelle Groves; brother, Kevin Zeringue.


Carlean is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Irma Samanie Zeringue; brother, Fr. Guy Zeringue, Jr., and Ronald Zeringue.

Carlean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved people and always had a sweet smile on her face. Carlean loved her only granddaughter with her whole heart and would tend to all her extracurricular activities. She worked in the Public School System for 34 years as a teacher where most of her years were spent at Mulberry Elementary School. Carlean leaves her beautiful family behind to be reunited with her family who passed before her. Her legacy will live on through those who loved her, and she now rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
