Carolyn B. Rivere, age 68, a resident of Gray, LA, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, January 11, 2021. Carolyn was born in Marrero, LA on January 14, 1952.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth J. Rivere, Sr.; daughter, Renee R. King (Benny Portier); son, Kenneth J. Rivere, Jr. (Lydia); seven grandchildren, Victoria, Taylor, Nathan, Kenneth III (Sheena Henry), Jared (Kim), Kayla (Brinton Barnes), and Heaven Rivere; six great-grandchildren, Regan, Allie, Lincoln, Delilah, Brinton Jr., and Lexi; siblings, Charles Billiot (Shirley), Rene Billiot (Becky), Eva Rivere (Mel Martin), Barbara Bryan (Jim), Brenda Billiot, Deborah Olivier-DeRouen (Doug); and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son, Derrick Rivere; parents, Elwood and Elizabeth Billiot; brothers, Curtis, Joseph, Robert, Earl and Frank Billiot; and brother-in-law, Richard Delatte.
Carolyn loved serving those in need in the community. She also loved Mardi Gras and being a longtime member of the Krewe of Aquarius, Float Captain for three years and her Float Family.
Her family would like to thank ALL of the Medical Teams and Doctors at TRMC, especially Doctors Robichaux, Templet, Thibodeaux, Parker and Vander, RNAPP’s Ross and Cole, the RN’s Ben, Desmond, Korie, Darian, Olivia, Mary-Claire, Sydney, Cassie, Tatum, Hanna, Emily, Shawn, Sarah, Abby, Loretta, Denise, Cody and Bethany and RT’s Carl, Lisa, Allison, Amber, Jeanie, Anne, Donna and anyone we may have missed. Your dedication and compassion did not go unnoticed during these trivial times for you all. May God be with you always!
Carolyn’s wishes to be cremated and exclude a service will be respectfully granted by her family.
