Cherylyn Mary “Putt” Jackson Marchive, 75; passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Putt was a native and resident of Houma, LA.


Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, February  4, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at St. Anthony Church at 12:00pm, Noon.  Burial will take place after services in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Putt is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years; Sterling Cappel Marchive Sr., her children, Jodi Wunstell and husband Remy, Danielle “Sugar” Marchive, Sterling “Bugger Bear” Cappel Marchive Jr. and wife Sherry Voisin Marchive; grandchildren, Ellis Duplantis, Derrick Toups and wife Kristen, Jared Duplantis, Bryar Wunstell and fiancé Casandra, Nichollas Marchive, Brock Wunstell and companion Katelyn, and Tucker Marchive; great grandchild, Lana Duplantis; sibling, Earl “Sonny” Henry Jackson Jr and wife Judy, Neal Jackson, Darrell Jackson Sr., Janine Guidry and husband Jack, brother-in-law, Arlen Guidry, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Putt is preceded in passing by her parents, Earl Henry Jackson and Lena Granger Jackson; siblings, Warren Carroll Jackson, Earline “Nutsie” Dove and husband Bill, Beverly Freeman and husband Peg, Arleta “Eta” Guidry and husband Lee, Linda Guidry, Norma Nell Loker and husband “Wam”; and sister-in-law, Roxanne Jackson, Earline Jackson.


Cherylyn was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She brought joy to everyone she met. Putt was a published poet, and an artist/painter and loved to sing.

She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.  She will never be forgotten and always and forever loved.
