Daniel P. Hebert, 78, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Houma, passed away on January 18, 2021.


Visitation will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 from 9am to 11am, with the service to start at 11am, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Jarred Hebert, Jacob Hebert, and Caleb Hebert; step grandson, Bray Fontenot; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Mildred, Roland, Geraldine, Andrew “Dooley”, Beverly, Gerald, Janet, Gilda, and Sandra and their spouses; daughter in law, Gwen Hebert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and caregivers, including Kim, Sheryl, and Shelly “Sno”.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Chauvin Hebert; sons, Troy Hebert and Dooley Hebert; parents, Andrew and Lydia Hebert; siblings, Irene, Doris, Shelly, Belle, and Barbara.


Daniel was a veteran in the United States Marines. He was an ordained minister, who loved life and the Lord, and was a strong advocate for autism. He co-owned and operated Missions Outreach Food Bank and also drew a lot of house plans in the area of Bayou Blue. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
