Donald Joseph Lasseigne, 91, a lifelong resident of Houma, LA, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, September 15, 2023.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation in his honor on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Maria Immaculata Gathering Center from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors at 10:15 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.


Donald is survived by his daughters, Cindy Chauvin (Paul) and Vicki Falgoust (Keith); grandchildren, Connely “CJ” Chauvin, Nicholas Falgoust (Kelsi), and Lauren Stiegler (Kenny); great-grandchildren, Gavin Stiegler, Josie Falgoust, Jonah Falgoust, and Jru Falgoust; brother, Dale Lasseigne; and stepsiblings.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Daigle Lasseigne; father, Wilton Lasseigne, Sr. (Elvire); mother, Ethel Lasseigne; brother, Wilton Lasseigne, Jr.; sister, Doris Carlin (Gilbert); and nephew, Larry Carlin.

Donald was a loving father and friend to all. He served our country in the National Guard and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Air Force, he worked at Haynie Wire Line Co. and Chevron USA for numerous years. Donald was very active in his community, being part of the Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years, holding major roles including Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, and Treasurer. He loved riding his motorcycle with his wife and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
