Eva Dean “Boss” Fitch, 90, a native of Dulac, Louisiana and resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, October 23, 2023.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Fitch, Cheryl Parfait and husband Paul, Wilfred Fitch and wife Johanna, Nancy Smith, and Sophia Smith; 23 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; siblings, Felix Dean and wife Debra, Jimmy Dean and wife Maryann, and Barbara Dean Naquin and husband Joseph “Chunky” Naquin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Paul Fitch Sr.; son, Edward “Boogie” Fitch Jr.; son-in-law, Joseph Percy Smith Sr.; parents, Eva and Wilfred Dean; sisters, Catherine Dean Parfait, Jeannette Dean, Dorothy Dean Billiot, Rita Dean Breaux; brother, George Dean; granddaughter, Hope Billiot; grandson, Joe Verdin; great-grandchildren, Daison Fitch and Emerson DeHart.
Eva is now reunited with her husband of 70 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong Godly woman with a great sense of humor who enjoyed some good boiled crabs. She loved family gatherings and never wanted anyone to leave when they visited. She adored all of her children and grandchildren but everyone knows Ja’Kyrie was her favorite.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Grand Caillou Baptist Church, Houma, LA from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the church from 9:30am until the funeral service at 11:30am. The burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery, Houma, Louisiana.
