Faron “Sap” Ledet, 67, a native and resident of Pointe-aux-Chenes, passed away on October 21, 2023.


Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 9am to 11am, with the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will take place in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery of Pointe-aux-Chenes.

He is survived by his wife, Thea Ledet; son, Toby Ledet (Tammy); daughter, Angie Chauvin (Todd); step son, Michael Smith; step daughters, Lauren Rebert (Aaron) and Nicole Smith; brothers, Ervin, Nolan, and Raymond, Ledet; sister, Earline Smith; grandchildren, Harley Ledet, Logan Chauvin, Lilli Chauvin, Haley Pope, Colton Rebert, Cheyenne Rebert, and Caliann Rebertand; great grandchildren, Journee Landry, Jason Pope, and Kyi Pope.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris Ledet Sr. and Agnes Brunet Ledet; brother, Norris Ledet Jr.; and grandson, Michael Pope.


Sap retired from Gulf Island Fabrication after 35 loyal years of service. He loved his tractor, gardening, and his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
