Gilbert Paul Stoufflet, 80, a native of Montegut, LA and resident of Houma, LA; passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 1:46pm.
Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, LA on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin after visitation at St. Ann Catholic Church on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12:00pm with burial following in the church cemetery.
Gilbert is survived by his loving family; his wife of fifty-eight years, Judy Hebert Stoufflet; children, Dena Stoufflet Mendoza and husband Barry, Annette Stoufflet Walker and husband Jon; grandchildren, Megan and Mariah Walker, and Taylor Babin.
Gilbert is preceded in passing by his parents, Ernest and Marjorie Dugas Stoufflet; sister, Sally Ann Stoufflet Braud; brother, Ernest Paul Stoufflet; and nephew, Samuel Stoufflet.
Gilbert was the proud owner of Stoufflet Dump Truck, Dozer, and Backhoe Service Inc. for thirty years.
He was a life-long LSU football fan and a member of the Krewe of Houmas for twenty-five years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time at his camp in Grand Isle with his family and friends; most especially his granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church in Grand Isle, LA. in memory of Gilbert Stoufflet.
He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends, but never forgotten and always loved.
