Jimmie was married to his high school sweetheart and together they shared three wonderful children. After his father’s passing, he helped raise his siblings. Years later, he became a father figure to Andre’ and Evan after their father’s untimely death. As an all-around good person and devoted family man, he was respected and looked up to by many. He was a man of few words, however, his actions conveyed his affections. He did have a silent stare down that could intimidate anyone! He was an electrician by trade and worked primarily in the oilfield. Together he and Veralyn had a rent house business, Price’s Rentals, where he was an all-around handyman. Jimmie had a passion for gardening and loved his citrus trees. He could often be seen on his tractor, working, or cutting grass at his house. He was a creative inventor and loved making things in his barn. He and Veralyn loved cruising and camping and shared many years of seeing the islands and making memories. Jimmie was a dedicated volunteer throughout his life helping out many people, whether they asked or not. He could be seen giving his time at St. Joseph Church, Lagniappe Fair, and Pizza Express. He was always there and willing to help his children, family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. He was an avid genealogist traveling throughout the state to visit old and newfound cousins to swap stories and photos. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
