John G. Kanode, 91, a native of Mount Joy, PA., and a resident of Houma, LA., went home to be with his Lord, Friday, November 26, 2021.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 18th from 10:30 am to 11:00 am and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am at Christ Baptist Church in Houma. He is survived by his son, Robert Kanode and wife Crystal; his daughters, Debbie Heath and Denise LeCompte and husband Christopher; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; stepchildren David Harwell and wife Sandra, Charles Harwell and wife Gaynell, Shirley Kirkes, Carolyn Mancuso, Betty Pearson, Donna Harwell; 16 step-grandchildren, 21 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 step great-great-grandchildren. Brothers, Isaac Kanode and Earl Kanode; sister Mary Hostetter.
He is preceded in death by first wife Verna N. Kanode and by second wife Georgia Kanode; parents, William Kanode and Anna G. Kanode; sons, Richard Kanode and David Kanode; brothers, Irvin Kanode, Amos Kanode; sisters, Esther Kauffman, Anna Beaver, Ruth Winter, Barbara Galebach; son in law, Wesley Heath; stepsons in law, William Mancuso and William Pearson; 1 step-grandson.
