Lawanda Gail Duet, 57, a native of Elaine, Arkansas, and longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 19, 2023.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service in her honor on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Guests will be invited to share a few words about Gail at 1:00 p.m.
Gail is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Ricky Duet; daughters, Kristy Authement (Derek) and Chelsea Duet (Brad); son, Travis Sparks; grandchildren, Kinsley Authement, Landon Authement, Zoey Duet; and her sister, Patty Bergeron.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Carolyn Burton.
Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved spending her time painting, crafting, fishing, a night out at the casino, but most of all being with her grandchildren and family. Gail was a nurse and enjoyed working at Terrebonne General Neurology Care with all her amazing coworkers. Even during her fight with cancer she was beautiful, graceful, and strong. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
