Lucinda Virginia Maxwell, age 84, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Alabama and a longtime resident of Houma.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Friday, November 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at Chauvin Funeral Home Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Virginia is survived by her children, Andre Clements, Janice Basco, Jamie Basco; grandchildren, Ashley Kyle, Kevin Kyle, Holden Basco, Mitchell Basco III; sisters, Ann Morris, Judy Niday; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, John Adkinson and Lena Woods Adkinson; brothers, Bobby Adkinson, Russell Woods, Bill Andrews; sister, Maxine Stoops.
Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Virginia enjoyed traveling and bowling. She also loved having her friends and family over to watch the Saints and Alabama games, as well as playing cards. Virginia was a devout Christian and enjoyed going to church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
