Margaret Louise LaRose Mahler

Margaret Louise LaRose Mahler, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9:00 am. Margaret was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

A public visitation will be held at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church Community Center in Houma, LA on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Maria Immaculata Church Community Center at 11:00 am with burial taking place after Mass in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Margaret is survived by her loving family; her children, Melissa Louise Mahler Lemoing, Matthew Louis Mahler and wife Luisa Fernanda Mahler; her siblings, Arlen Louis LaRose and wife Janie Marie Michel LaRose; grandchildren, Nicholas Joseph Mahler, Emma Marie Mahler; and loving nieces and nephews, Michelle Marie LaRose, Nicole Marie LaRose Dehon and husband Markey Dehon, Christopher Louis LaRose and wife Alicia Huddleston LaRose, Brantley Louis LaRose and wife Kerri Ouber LaRose, and  Megan Marie LaRose Landry and husband Bradley Landry.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Butley Joseph Mahler Jr.; parents, Rufus Hudson LaRose, and Florence Lajaunie LaRose; and brother, Rufus Henry LaRose Jr.

Margaret was a 1st grade teacher at Honduras Elementary School, and a 4^th grade teacher at Village East and Montegut Elementary Schools for a career spanning twenty-two years. Margaret was a dedicated volunteer at the Terrebonne Churches United Food Bank and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). Margaret dedicated her time as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer at Maria Immaculata and St. Bernadette Catholic Churches.

She was much beloved and respected by her colleagues, former students, family, and friends and will be greatly missed.
