With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nazia Dardar, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Born on December 26, 1933, in Point-Aux-Chene, Louisiana, she peacefully departed from this world on March 20, 2024, at her residence in Point-Aux-Chene, Louisiana. Nazia was a proud American Indian, deeply devoted to her family and her heritage.
Nazia’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family. She found joy in gardening, caring for her loved ones, and showcasing her culinary skills in the kitchen. Her passion for shrimping and trapping allowed her to find solace in the great outdoors and connect with her surroundings.
She is survived by her children, Bernita Verdin (John), Louverta “Loulou” Dardar, Donald Dardar (Theresa), Anna Shephard (Roger), Basile Dardar (Sherry), Donna Dupre (Alcee), Betty Verdin (Viness “T-Vi”), Lisa Trahan (Lynn), Adam Dardar (Christine), Russell Dardar (Donna), Eugene Dardar, Rusty Dardar, Ronald Dardar (Toby), Joanna Plaisance (Alvin), Samuel Dardar, Jr.. Nazia was blessed with forty grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren, thirty great great grandchildren; siblings, Theresa Naquin, Loredia Brunet (David), Jaunita “Ninta” Foussell; (Jimmy), Jay Naquin (Walterine), Lester Naquin. Their lives have been forever touched by Nazia’s kindness, warmth, and devotion.
Nazia is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dardar, Sr.; father, Joseph Naquin, and her mother, Olga Naquin; grandchild, Pamela Naquin; great grandchildren, Johnathan Verdin, Kobie Verdin, and Madison Richoux; siblings, Paul, Nolan, Irvin, and Buster Naquin, Angelina Dardar, and Beulah Dufrene.
A Mass in celebration of Nazia Dardar’s life will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on March 23, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place at the church starting at 9:00 am. Following the ceremony, Nazia will be laid to rest in a burial service at the church’s grounds.
Your presence and support during this time of mourning would be greatly appreciated as we honor and remember the beautiful life of Nazia Dardar. May her spirit continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
