Paola Joseph Lyons Jr., age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:25 p.m. He was a native of Chauvin and a resident of Bourg, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in church cemetery.
Paola is survived by his wife, Mamie Ann Brunet Lyons; son, Jason Paul Lyons and wife, Vicky; step-grandson, Troy J. Marcel; brothers, Paul Lyons and wife, Irene, Julius Lyons, Berton Lyons, Sr. and wife, Joann, Malcolm Lyons and wife, Sadie; sisters, Felicia Lirette and husband, Wilton Jr., and Vera Picou.
Paola is preceded in death by his parents, Paola Joseph Sr. and Ezilda Charpentier Lyons; brothers, Richard Lyons Sr. and wife, Judy, and Michael Lyons, Sr.; sisters, Della Lapeyrouse and husband, Walter, Wilda “Teesie” LeBoeuf and husband, Willis “Bay”; in-laws, Elie and Walterine Brunet; brother-in-law, Errol James Picou; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Lyons.
Paola was retired boat captain from 2R Drilling. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus counsel 8616 for 37 years, and Woodmen of the World. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
