Patricia Ann Brunet Verret, 72, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away on July 5, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, Louisiana from 9:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at St. Ellie Cemetery in Chauvin, Louisiana.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Eloi Verret; daughter, Beth Lynn Verret; brother, Joseph “Joe Black” Brunet; sisters, Genevieve Voison (John “J.P.”), Doris Punch (Allen “Fatso”), Geraldine Hargroves (Thomas); numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Brunet Sr. and Mary Mae Brunet; brothers, Chester Brunet Jr. and Russell Brunet; sister, Justelia Brunet Falcon.
Patricia was a devoted mother, wife, and loving sister. She enjoyed fishing, going to the camp, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was an avid story teller, enjoyed bowling with her mom and sisters, and cherished being in the company of her bosom buddies (i.e., cancer survivors)- especially her friend Mildred. She was also a spiritual woman who devoted her time to being a caretaker for family members. Through caring for others, she also courageously fought her own battles with cancer. Her bravery shined through her optimism for life even in her darkest days. Most of all, her daughter was the greatest gift in her life, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who loved her.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGHS and the staff at Main Campus Ochsner for their compassion and care through everything. Special thanks to nurse Vivian Fruge’ for going above and beyond.
