Ralph J. Poche’, 68, a native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana passed away on March 29, 2022 at 5:46am.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Thibodaux Funeral Home from 8:30am until the Religious Service begins at 11:00am. Immediately following will be a gravesite burial with full police honors at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tamara “Tammy” Marsa-Poche’; sons, Ralph “R.J.” J. Poche’ (Amber) and Reese A. Poche’; daughter, Valerie L. Poche’; brothers, Jerome Poche’ (Debbie); sisters, Sue Manning (Keith), Rachael Bland (Duane), and Robin Constant (John); grandchildren, Hunter Poche’ and Ryder Poche’.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sally Hoffmann Poche’ and Ned Poche’ Jr.
Ralph became a police officer for the City of Thibodaux in 1973 and advanced to the rank of Lieutenant. While working as a detective at Thibodaux Police Department, he was chosen to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia. He graduated in the 136th Class in 1984. After retiring from Law Enforcement in 1991, Ralph started raising cattle and making hay. Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, target shooting, gun collecting, and traveling with his wife. Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, he continued with his hobbies until having to be placed on hospice where he passed away peacefully at home.
