Woodrow “Woody” Tregre, Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Woodrow was a longtime resident of Houma.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

All are encourage to wear LSU attire or colors.

Woody is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Yvonne Pellegrin Tregre, daughters, Gia Champagne and husband Nicholas, Crystal Arceneaux and husband Ken; grandchildren, Ava Champagne, Kara Arceneaux, and Carlie Arceneaux; grand dog, Dixie; mother, Gloria Benoit Tregre; sister, Gwenette Tregre Thomas and husband Danny; brothers, Carl Tregre and wife Ann, Charlie Tregre, Terry Tregre and wife Barbara; Godchildren, Terry Tregre, Fr. Joseph Tregre, Brad Brewer, and Andrea Crochet.


Woody is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow P. Tregre, Sr.; sister, Gloria Tregre Brewer; brother, Warren Tregre.

Woody was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His love for his Lord and family were very important to him in his life. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and served as an usher for many years. He was a School Bus Driver for Terrebonne Parish School District until his retirement. Anyone who knew Woody knew he loved listening to the radio talk shows, including Rush Limbaugh, he enjoyed cutting grass, proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and loved LSU – GO TIGERS! Woody leaves a beautiful family behind to carry on his loving, caring, and heartfelt traditions. May he have eternal life and peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
