It’s been a year in the making, but your new Times is finally here!

And what an issue it is.

Over the last two weeks, our staff has been abuzz with activity. We survived a sale, a move and all the headaches of overnight growth, but, by golly, this issue successfully made it to the press. Are entire Rushing Media family deserves the credit for making that happen.

You’ve probably noticed our news team’s names – John DeSantis, Richard Fischer, Casey Gisclair and Michael Hotard. They’ve had their noses to the grindstone this past couple of weeks, focusing on the big issues that impact you, our readers. New to our news team are Terry Trahan Jr. and Melissa Holman, who are lending a hand with our newest addition: Living.

Our ad sales staff – director Marian Long, Harold Cancienne Jr., Germain Townsend, Elizabeth Porche, Britni Kuschova, Linda Pontiff, Jackie Gehbauer, Matha Naquin, Emily Melancon and Ashley Thibodeaux – did a great job reaching advertisers to share their message in this very important Oil & Gas special section.

Thanks, too, to the many businesses that chose us as the vehicle to reach you with their message.

Major love goes to our creative team – director Gavin Stevens, Mariella Jimenez, Alanna Scurlock and Alexis Marcel – for their help in guiding us through this redesign and helping make our ads and images pop.

Rushing Media’s front office – general manager Lacey LeBlanc, Brooke Adams, Jessica Gifford and Brandy O’Banion – deserves a round of applause for helping keep the wheels on the track, even in the most trying of times.

When your staff more than doubles overnight, systems take a big hit and ours had its fair share. That everyone was able to keep their wits about them and keep our commitment to delivering Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes an informative, entertaining product is a testament to this team’s dedication. It’s a vision that starts at the top, and we thank our publisher, Brian Rushing, for that.

So, that said, let’s talk about what you are holding in your hands.

Right off the bat, you’ll notice we’ve gone color. We’ve also added a number of elements for your to have your voice heard.

The Times prides itself on being rigorously local. Toward that end, we want to hear from you. If you have a photo you’d like to share, send it. Celebrating an anniversary, wedding or engagement, share the news. If your classroom is launching a cool project, let us know.
