The NBA playoffs beat on, but the summer of LeBron is here in full force.

As soon as the final seconds ticked off the clock in the Celtics’ series-clinching win against the Cavaliers, a little snowball began rolling down a hill – LeBron James is now a free agent.

Where will he go?

What will he do?

Who has money to sign him?

The snowball rolls on.

Was he mailing it in during the playoffs?

Is he loyal to Cleveland?

Could he possibly leave the Cavaliers?

Again, the snowball gets bigger and bigger – big enough to eclipse the entire city of Cleveland and the entire NBA world that can’t get enough of James’ potential free agent move.

It’s going to be a pretty wild summer folks, as the NBA’s most recognizable face could be changing addresses. And even if James does take the safe road and stays in Cleveland, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and countless others could all get new area codes this July.

I have absolutely no knowledge into the situation, but what I can offer is a 100 percent Cajun-born opinion.

It’s still more than a month out, but here is how Casey’s Corner sees this thing shaking out.

It’s fun living in a fantasy world every once in a while, right?

No. 1 LeBron James:

James is not the best player in the NBA (we’ll save that for another column), but he is the biggest fish to fry this offseason – if for no other reason than for his marketability. Countless teams have tanked multiple seasons in an effort to clear enough space to sign him, but the major players to woo James from the Cavs seem to be the Bulls, Knicks, Nets and Heat. If LeBron’s No. 1 motivation is to win, he’ll go with the Bulls because of their already talented roster. But I question what his motivation is sometimes, so I’ll go with the Knicks and the money. Being in New York is sure to make James the first-ever billionaire athlete. The silver medal winner in this race would be a short-term deal with the Cavaliers to buy a little more time.

Final Destination: Knicks

No. 2 Dwayne Wade:

Wade will probably take a little while to decide, because he will want to see what LeBron does. Does he want to team up with him? Or does he want to sign with a competitor and try to beat him and become the NBA’s new biggest star? Like James, the Bulls are a player because Wade is from Chicago, but I have to think the Heat are still the team to beat if they can lure another big star to Miami – something they have the money to do. But my guess here is uncertainty about Wade’s future will keep that from happening and he goes home to unite with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

Final Destination: Bulls

No. 3 Chris Bosh:

Bosh probably is one of the Top 7 players in the world, but no one even knows who he is. Why? He’s played his entire career in Canada. Well it’s time for that to change, because there is a zero percent chance Bosh resigns with the Raptors. Teaming up with James in New York (or wherever James goes), will be a huge attraction for the hungry Bosh. But I have him going to the Rockets, and here’s why. Of the 5-10 teams who will court Bosh, they will all court him as a Plan B or a Plan C in case they don’t get LeBron. Houston has been on the record as saying they are not interested in any top-tier guys other than Bosh. Combine that with the lanky forward being originally from Texas and it sounds like a destiny deal to me.

Final Destination: Rockets

No. 4 Amar’e Stoudemire:

Stoudemire has every reason to stay, because the Suns’ future is seemingly pretty bright. But I can’t blame him if he does leave. Remember the time he was almost traded to the Cavaliers for pretty much a bologna sandwich in return? Remember the time he wanted a contract extension, and the Suns said no? All of those things have to be in the big man’s mind, and he’s out the door to team with his Team USA buddy LeBron in the Big Apple.

Final Destination: Knicks

No. 5 Dirk Nowitzki:

Dirk has an option to become a free agent, and I think he will actually cash that option in and test the waters. The Mavericks’ frustrating first round loss probably has the big man unhappy with the future of his team. But calmer heads will prevail and Mark Cuban will bring Dirk back – because he has no other choice – if he wants to stay relevant that is.

Final Destination: Mavericks

The big five are the big five. Those are on the top of everyone’s list. But there are countless others we could go on all day about. But let’s just round out the Top 10 free agents and give a quick description of where we think they’ll head this summer.

No. 6 Joe Johnson – Goes to Miami to try and fill Wade’s shoes.

No. 7 Carlos Boozer – Signs with Heat early hoping for Wade to stay; gets stuck with Joe Johnson.

No. 8 Yao Ming – He has the option to opt out, but coming off a severe injury, he stays with Houston.

No. 9 David Lee – Amar’e signs in Big Apple, Lee bolts across town with the Nets.

No. 10 Shaquille O’Neal – approaching irrelevance, signs with Thunder to try to bolster their paint offense.
